ZF Wind Power LLC Energy/Farm
Founded in 1915 in Friedrichshafen, Germany, ZF began its long history building transmissions for airships and other vehicles. Today the company is a world leader in the production of transmissions, steering systems, and chassis components for many of the world’s top automobile and construction vehicle brands. In 2009, early planning began for a new state of the art facility that would focus on the sustainable energy industry in the manufacturing and distribution of gear boxes for wind turbines. The new building in Gainesville is designed with planned future expansion capability and houses operations for hard and soft machining of gears, assembly/ testing/painting of finished gear boxes, a separate heat treatment building, complex foundations for machining equipment, multiple high capacity bridge cranes and a test bench.
