Boeing – Interiors Responsibility Center Auto/Aero
The Boeing IRC facility is designed for production of the interior components of the Boeing 787 aircraft. The facility required the installation of many different types of manufacturing support systems. These systems included a 29” of mercury process vacuum system, a high temperature (320 F) high pressure water heating system to heat and preheat the production equipment, many types of pits and equipment foundations were required for the installation of sensitive Owner-furnished equipment. HVAC equipment in the facility consists of 2700 tons of chilled water and heating hot water with all supporting pumps, piping, and an energy management system. The building was designed and completed to LEED silver standards.
